Brian Goodkind

Founding Partner

Brian Goodkind is the founding partner of Goodkind & Florio, P.A. and an experienced attorney and business consultant.

Since 1982 when he graduated first in his class from The University of Florida School of Law, he has worked for large and small law firms, been the managing partner of a seventy-attorney firm, worked as general counsel and then as chief operating officer of a public company and, since 2004, has been the senior partner of Goodkind & Florio, P.A.

Brian’s practice areas include all aspects of real estate and real estate development, including condominiums, finance, construction and transactions. In addition, Brian is proficient in commercial and business law, finance and secured transactions, employment law, partnerships and business organizations and the uniform commercial code. Brian’s work in these practice areas began as a litigator in the 1980s and expanded into transactions and negotiations during the 1990s. Starting in 1998, Brian was the chief operating officer of a publicly held technology company and then returned to the practice of law in 2003, starting the firm that is today Goodkind & Florio.

For the last 20 plus years, his practice has been both litigation and transactional in all of the above described areas of law. In addition, his experiences as the managing partner of a mid-size law firm and a c-level officer of a public company enable him to temper his legal advice with both business practicalities and commercial realities so that he truly is a counselor and not just a lawyer.

Brian is conversationally proficient in Spanish. He lives in Coconut Grove. Together with his late wife, Jo-Ann Forster, they have three children and four grandchildren.
